By default WordPress will display a list of blog posts on the site frontpage.
This can be adjusted from the 'Settings > Reading' page where you'll be able to select a static page instead for the 'Front page' option. This will allow for static page content to be displayed.
Here you will also be able to assign a page for the 'Posts page' option which will be used to display the blog post list.
